    WHAT LED YOU TO START WORKING IN DIGITAL/MEDIA PUBLISHING?
    In 2006 there weren’t only a handful of fashion stylist bloggers online. Most of them didn’t’ want people to know who they were and wrote anonymously. I didn’t care my portfolio and fashion blog have always been linked. I’m not a very technical person but I’ve always embraced technology.

    I was always taking notes and photos at fashion shoots, I wanted to know what could do next time, what worked, what didn’t work and how do we grown and take these ideas forward. Simply I was just documenting the shoot. At that time there weren’t any tv show etc that showed you what really happened behind the scenes at a fashion shoot, if you weren’t involved you didn’t know what happened. I’m very much about sharing information. Our model had just come from Japan and she suggested I start a blog. I didn’t even know what that was at the time, but I started on one on Typepad and then a few years later moved it to WordPress. When I first started blogging it was really just for me, a place to talk about my work and daily experiences. Once Twitter and Instagram came along I felt less of a need to blog, but recently that’s changed for me and I wanted to blog more.

     

    WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

    Most days start off with me meditating for 20 minutes and then taking my dog out for a walk. After that everyday changes. I work as a Fashion Editor so most days I’m styling shoots or fashion shows or preparing for them. I also freelance for a couple of fashion magazines and consult with businesses on branding and social media. I spend a lot of my time meeting designers and doing pr appointments. I often travel at a moment’s notice. I recently went to Belgrade Fashion Week. – I really love working with designers from all over the world. It’s important to see new things and what’s happening. I’m always taking photos but there are days that I’m so in the moment enjoying the day that I actually forget to take a picture.

     

    WHAT’S YOUR WORK SETUP LOOK LIKE?

    Most of the time I work from home, so it’s easy and comfortable. I had a Dell computer for years but I was surrounded by Mac users at the magazines where I work, so I finally gave into it and now I have an iPad, and iPhone 7 plus and a MacBook Pro. I have a love-hate relationship with MAC.

    I still use TweetDeck, HootSuite and I’ve started to use Trello. I still remember first tweeting from my mobile – and how new and cool that felt. Was it called Twitter text? And then when Mo-blogging started – it felt so exciting.

    I like to listen to Audible when I travel.

    I often watch Ted talks when I need a break.

     

    WHAT DO YOU DO TO GET INSPIRED?

    I love meeting new people and learning about their life and listening to their stories. Travel, Netflix, Books, Exhibitions. You can find inspiration anywhere.

     

    WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF WRITING OR QUOTE?

    “Luck favours the prepared”. My husband used to say this. People often say you’re lucky and somehow that diminishes the fact you work really hard, but the truth is you have to work really hard to be really lucky.

     

    WHAT’S THE PROBLEM THAT YOU’RE PASSIONATELY TACKLING AT THE MOMENT? 

    Understanding Instagram.

     

    IS THERE A PRODUCT, SOLUTION, OR TOOL THAT YOU THINK IS A GOOD MATCH FOR YOUR DIGITAL PUBLISHING EFFORTS?

    For me it’s simple it’s WordPress – I’ve been using it for a while, and over the years it changes and just gets better.

     

    ANY ADVICE FOR AMBITIOUS DIGITAL PUBLISHING AND MEDIA PROFESSIONALS JUST STARTING OUT?

    You just have to know what you’re passionate about and just do.
