What’s happening:

Belgium-based content marketing start-up StoryChief gained big with €1 million of investment capital from a variety of sources — which will help it reach its goal of becoming the central content hub for businesses.

Why it matters:

The comprehensive StoryChief platform was born out of the co-founders’ desire to cure the epidemic of clickbait and cheap content marketing. Its cloud content software helps companies who want to build out their content marketing strategy by cutting time and production costs, and publishing multichannel with just one click.

It is marketed to startups, SEO marketers and editorial teams who want to increase their reach, allowing for collaboration between team members, content approval, cross-posting to blogs and social media capabilities. It also has a unique matchmaking component to help its customers find freelance writers.

Digging Deeper:

“We want businesses to produce thoughtful content and share their valuable insights with the world,” says StoryChief co-founder and CEO Valeri Potchekailov.

Since it’s founding in 2017, StoryChief currently has 7,000+ registered users across 70 countries, and has been sculpting the product based on user feedback. This capital injection of seed money should help the company reach much higher numbers.

Potchekailov explains that the startup tackles three pain points. The first is efficiency in creation and collaboration of content. The second is providing visibility in a multichannel world. The third is measurement and improvement of content quality. He says this is all possible by providing dummy proof tools and software integrations.

Key Features:

Some of the highlights of the StoryChief features include:

  • It can save up to six hours per article with faster content distribution and better collaboration flows.
  • It allows users to embed content from their favourite tools, give feedback, and manage approvals for their teams in one central place.
  • It gives users the capability to plan, schedule and distribute across multiple channels with one click.
  • It offers performance tracking across those channels, and captures leads in users’ CRM system.
